Silverton, CO

From Durango we drove towards Silverton, CO.  These pictures of the Rocky Mountains were taken along the way.

We pulled into Silverton and easily found a parking space.

As we were walking around the town we found the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot.  There was a train getting ready to depart towards Durango.

After watching the train we meandered around the town a bit more.  

We walked up to the Public Lands office to inquire about camping.  Much of the National Forests, Parks, and BLM lands are checkered with private lands in this area.  So when camping we had to be mindful that we were doing so on public lands.  After getting some good information at the Public Lands Office we decided to leave Silverton and continue through Ouray, CO onto Telluride.

We passed this Mountain Goat in the middle of his lunch along the way to Ouray.
