Mobile Alabama

We left Camping World and headed for Mobile, AL.  Our first stop was the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park.

From there we headed into downtown Mobile tot he Fort Conde Welcome Center and Museum.

After visiting the museum we rode moda!, the free shuttle through downtown Mobile.  The shuttle was a bit quick though, so we hopped in our van and took a slower trip through the city.

Then headed off towards Mississippi.

Hi Camping World... We're Back!

Our plan is to make it to Baton Rouge, LA by Friday, February 7th.  So we left Montgomery and headed for Mobile, AL with plans to stay the night at the Meaher State Park.  Unfortunately, by the time we arrived the park gates were already closed for the day.  We looked for other nearby campgrounds, however suitable campgrounds are few and far between in Alabama.  There was another Camping World about 25 miles away so we decided to head there.  This was our camp at Camping World in Robertsdale, AL.

Montgomery, AL

We left Camping World and headed towards Montgomery, the home of the Bus Boycotts.  Our first stop was the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum.

Then we headed to the Ministers Home for the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church

We then had to go see the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church.  Along the way we stopped by the Alabama State Capitol.

We also visited the First White House of the Confederacy.

We finally made it to the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church where MLK preached.

Our last stop in Montgomery was at the bus stop where Rosa Parks caught the bus and refused to move to the back of the bus.
