Wash Creek Roadside Camp

We left Hendersonville and headed to the North Mill River in the Pisgah National Forest.  We planned to spend the night at Wash Creek Roadside Camp.

We pulled into the National Forest at night.  We saw several other campsites set up and finally decided on one that was vacant across from one that appeared occupied.

The next morning we found that our camp was right beside the creek.  The campsite was very nice.

The night before we thought the campsite across from us had campers.  When we looked in the morning we realized that the people who had camped there previously had left some of their trash and an EZ Up Tent.  The EZ Up Tent had blown over during the night and was a mangled mess of metal and canvas.  We decided to clean up their mess and in the process found tons of garbage, cans, and even a suitcase they had left behind.  They had filled the suitcase with cans and bottles and tried to burn it all.  It was a mess.

We strapped their garbage onto the back of our van to dispose of it properly.

Look at all the garbage we collected.
