Lake James State Park

From Wiseman's View we headed out to Lake James State Park.

View of Lake James from NC 1238 Kistler Memorial Highway.

The view of the lake as we drove up to it.

The Lake James State Park facilities.  The facilities were very nice and in good repair.  It was one of the nicest state parks we have been to.  Everything appeared to be in good working order.  The restrooms were clean, the park was clean and the park was very well maintained.  George noticed a row of brand new canoes ready for the summer.

After visiting the park we decided to head to Curtis Creek North Dispersed Camp in the Pisgah National Forest for the night.  We were going to stay at Kistler Memorial Roadside Camp another night but we had traveled far enough south that Curtis Creek was closer to us.  Additionally,  it was only two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway.  With hopes of waking up the next morning to the Blue Ridge Parkway being open we headed towards our campsite.
