Slide Fire Update

We left the Grand Canyon and drove south towards Interstate 40.  We were heading for the Hoover Dam when we spotted the smoke from the still burning Slide Fire rising above the trees to our southeast.

Here is an updated map of where our original camp in Oak Creek Canyon was (the small red "X" marks our camp) in relation to the fire.

As of May 29th the Slide Fire had grown to 21,067 acres, was at 55% containment and had cost $8 million.
