King Cake, Jimmy Swaggart and Lava Cantina

Today we joined the Raborn family for the final burial of John Davis Raborn Jr., Marks Grandfather.  We were so fortunate to have the opportunity to pay our respects to a great man and the man who introduced George to fried catfish.

Afterwards, Adrienne and Charles opened their home to us where we got to spend some time with the Raborn family.  It was wonderful to meet all of them.  We enjoyed some delicious food from VooDoo BBQ.  Try the sweet potatoes if you ever have the opportunity.

This being King Cake season, there was the largest King Cake we have ever seen.  It was absolutely delicious.

Later that evening we went for a walk past the  Jimmy Swaggart Ministries World Ministry Center.

"Just send money and you will be saved!"

These places you see on TV actually exist.

Later that night we went to the Lava Cantina for some drinks and snacks.  There was live music and dancing.  It was a very unique crowd.  We were very entertained!  Mark is observing some of the shenanigans below.

After we left Lava Cantina we headed to Cadillac Cafe but after a quick sweep of the parking lot decided we had had enough fun for the evening.
