Tax Dollars at Work

On Friday we went to look at a new refrigerator for George H. and discuss his outrageous internet, TV and phone bill with Comcast downtown.  On our way out of the city we saw a fist fight outside a convenience store where one man was being punched repeatedly to a bloody pulp by four other men.  We dialed 911 and after at least 5 minutes of discussion with the dispatcher were finally told that they would send an officer out.  We sat in the car and waited for over 10 minutes.  The police never came.

On Saturday morning, George and I decided to go to Market in the 1950 Spooky Chevy.  We were pulled over for a burned out tail light and given a written warning to have it fixed and signed off by an inspection station and sent back to the York City Police Department.

How odd that a man can get beaten and bloodied and law enforcement will not bother to come to his aid, but if your antique car happens to have a tail light out the police won't hesitate to pull you over.
