Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob
Fallingwater
was designed in 1935 by
Frank Lloyd Wright
for
Edgar Kaufman
and his family of the
Kaufmann's
department stores in Pittsburgh. It is located in Mill Run, PA in the heart of the Pennsylvania
Laurel Highlands
.
Kentuck Knob
, another
Frank Lloyd Wright
design, was completed 1953-1956 for the
Hagan Family
of Pittsburgh (owners of
Hagan Dairies
) and is located about 6 miles from
Fallingwater
in
Dunbar, PA
.

Horseshoe Curve
Horseshoe Curve
replaced the
Allegheny Portage Railroad
as a faster way to cross the Allegheny Mountains through Pennsylvania.
Up we go to see the train go around the horseshoe

Grand View Ship Hotel
was still there...
The
ship hotel
burned down in 2001 but you can still see signs of the old hotel and charring on the trees
