We stopped at a rest area in West Virginia, stretched out a bit and used the facilities. Then we climbed back into the van to continue on our way. We made it about 20 minutes when we realized that George had forgotten his phone at the rest area. So we turned around and went back to get it. It was a good use of 45 minutes and 5 gallons of fuel!

Leaving Pittsburgh
When we left Pittsburgh to head east for Thanksgiving it was snowing. We decided it may be safer to head south into West Virginia then east since the forecast showed rain in that direction and snow across most of Pennsylvania (which would have been a more direct route). It took us a little more than 7 hours and a short nap but we finally made it.

Pittsburgh Strip District
We visited the original Primanti Brothers Restaurant. Earlier in the week we had ordered a pizza and sandwich from another of their locations. I must say it was one of the most delicious pizza's I've had. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and the sauce and crust were perfect.
We visited Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange, Wholey's Fish Market, S&D Polish Deli, PA Macaroni Company, Leaf & Bean Cigar and Coffee shop and many other shops and markets in the historic Strip District.
