Painting @ CBRD

Chad has been keeping our cars in his showroom free of charge for the last year and we wanted to do something to thank him.

The shop looks absolutely amazing everywhere except for a tiny little shop bathroom that was just icky. We thought that a coat of paint would really help make it look a little nicer and give the guys a more inviting place to take care of their business.

We took a few hours and painted that icky bathroom for them and it really turned out nice.

Thanks for all the free storage Chad! We really appreciate it.

Below are the pictures of the transformation

Before...yuck!

Primed. It already looks so much better

All done.  What a difference!

Halloween Parade

It took a little longer than expected to get the Model A started so we didn't make it in time for registration but we joined the Mt. Wolf Halloween Parade illegally anyway!

This was the best we could do for costumes!

We made it to Mt. Wolf

Spooky Chevy

The Spooky Chevy is a fantastic family vehicle. It seats six adults comfortably. We rode it out to the Reliance for our family dinner.

Ocracoke

On our way to Ocracoke we passed the Bodie Island Light House

Because of the recent storms there was sand all over the roads.  The bulldozers were out clearing the sand from the roads like road crews do with snow plows after a winter snow storm.

The road was so narrow at times we could see the sound on the right & the ocean on the left!

Our van boat made it through even the most flooded parts!

Waiting for the ferry to take us to Ocracoke

Food for Thought

We helped fill 528 bags of food for needy children in Manteo today. We finished in under 40 minutes. There was an amazing assembly line set up and it worked great.

Thanks to everyone at Food For Thought for allowing us to help!

Ruthie's Kitchen

We found out about Ruthie's Kitchen through obxcommongood.org and decided to help out. They serve a free dinner every Tuesday night. The dinner, drinks and dessert are provided by members of the community and area churches. This Tuesday it was the church that provided the dinner, however the out pouring of additional food items from community members was astounding. There was so much food! George and I helped set up the dessert table and then manned the drink table.

If you are ever in the OBX area on vacation stop by on a Tuesday night and help out.

George was not happy with me snapping his picture while he cleaned up!

Life's a Beach When You're Retired...

First order of business, get the flags up

A storm must have blown away the benches but the beach was lovely

Stops From Anderson to Southern Shores...

First stop Aldi in South Carolina (groceries much less expensive in South Carolina... thanks for the tip Nancy!)

Then we drove until 11:30pm and camped in Tarboro, NC between two big rigs.

Can you guess where we camped?

I think you missed a little toothpaste dear ;)
